Mega Treat for Tamil Movie fans

Kollywood to release 15 movies in the span of 3 weeks before Cricket World Cup and IPL.

Much awaited movies are யுத்தம் செய், தூங்கா நகரம், கோ, பயணம், சிங்கம்புலி, காதலர் குடியிருப்பு, நடுநிசி நாய்கள், நந்தி.

Starting Feb 4 யுத்தம் செய், தூங்காநகரம், மின்சாரக் காதலி will be released. Narain's தம்பிக்கோட்டை will be released on Feb 10ம், பயணம் will be released on Feb 11.

Jeeva's 2 movies will also be released. His movie சிங்கம்புலி will be released on Feb 11, another movie கோ will be released on Feb 25.

காதலர் குடியிருப்பு, நந்தி, ஐவர், வர்மம் all will be released on Feb 11.

Gautam Menon's நடுநிசி நாய்கள், மின்சாரம், ஆரண்ய காண்டம் will be released on Feb 18.

With a gap of 2-3 weeks, these 15 Tamil movies will be acid tests for the Directors, Actors, Actress.. etc,.

Gorosthaney Sabdhan

This is another master piece "Feluda" written by Satyajit Ray but he didn't make this story into a movie.

Sandipan Ray(Son of Satyajit Ray) directed this movie. Sandipan has improved his directorial skills from his first Feluda movie but only thing he still has to improve is that he reveals the suspense in the beginning of the movie(Baksho Rahashya) whereas Satyajit Ray reveals it only in the end or appropriate time (like in Jai Baba Felunath, Sonar Kela).

I am sure Sandipan will improve in his forth coming movie - Jotokando Kathmandutei.

Enthiran - Robot

Much awaited Rajini's next movie will hit the screens on 24-Sep. This movie will be released in Tamil, Telugu & Hindi.

ARR's music is not appealing in Hindi & Telugu but in Tamil it is good.

The Expendables

The Expendables - too much of action and Sylvester Stallone has become old. Both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis also have a small part in the movie. Jason Statham has acted well.

Been Lazy

Been very lazy these days and not blogging.

Lazed around at home during Easter holidays but promise to return.

Post-Impressionism from Musée d'Orsay @ NGA, Canberra

3 hours drive from Sydney to Canberra on my Toyota Corolla was worth it to watch the original paintings of Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet etc. (The list goes on).

All these artists were called Post-impressionists as used real-life models, vivid brush strokes and colors and all these people were non-english speaking artists who came to Paris.

I no nothing about painting and I haven't tried my hand in painting and that's why I didn't choose to study Biology in HSC. But I was amazed the way these people thought in 19th centuary and that's the reason these paintings are still adored and they are priceless.

If you are an art lover and appreciate good paintings, then its worth making a trip to NGA, Canberra and the paintings are there till 10 April, 2010 else you have to goto Paris to see them.

Movies that had an impact

For a long time I kept hearing about the tamil movie "Vennila Kabadi Kuzu". On Sunday night I watched this movie and it really touched me, esp the climax. Now a days the directors want to leave an impact with the audiences and hence they have an alternate ending for their movies.

This trend will continue for sometime.

Movie has the same references to Hindi movie Salaam India, where the cricket coach gets sacked because he wants to instill discipline among the players but the players rebel against it and expel the coach.

In Vennila Kabadi Kuzu, its India's traditional game Kabaddi and in Salaam India its the crowd pulling game Cricket.
